The exhibition Global Tour proposes, through the works of about twenty artists coming from all horizons, a reflection on tourism and travel,their contemporary orientations, and economic and social impact on the whole world. The show is more an exploration of the notion of ‘travel’ than a critical analysis or dissection of the phenomenon of global tourism and its far reaching consequences.

While some artists launches an investigation into issues such as the perseverance of traditional tourism based on the principles of discovery, hospitality and exchange others are considering the urbanisation and architectural transformation of tourist destinations, the role of the tourist industry in the creation of exotic fantasies, the incorporation of contemporary art within touristic economies and the gap between the utopia of tourism and the reality of state borders and human migration.
